It is estimated that 6 billion pairs of jeans are produced every year all around the world. Zengcheng in Guangzhou is an important region of jeans production in China. If you are thinking about importing jeans from Zengcheng, you should consider visiting its wholesale center, and if you are interested in the product of a certain manufacturer, pay a visit to his factory. It is also advantageous to combine visits with participation in trade fairs, for example, the famous Canton Fair. Keep in mind that this type of visit should not overlap with the most important <a href=\"https:\/\/examinechina.com\/blog\/tag\/chinese-holidays\/\">Chinese holidays<\/a>, which usually don&#8217;t fall on the same date every year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About Zengcheng<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Zengcheng is a district under the capital of <a href=\"https:\/\/examinechina.com\/blog\/factories-in-guangdong-province-china\/\">Guangdong<\/a> Province \u2013 Guangzhou. This area was an important commercial center during the reign of the Eastern Han Dynasty (around 200 AD). It is estimated that the annual output of over 260 million pairs of jeans accounts for 60% of total Chinese jeans production. 40% of the jeans sold in the United States come from there. Xintang deserves its name as the &#8220;jeans capital of the world.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Xintang International Jean<\/strong> <strong>City<\/strong> is the first center in China of such type. At around 10,000 square meters, over 3,000 exhibitors offer their products, mainly jeans. The products are of medium quality at low prices. Although the most fashionable jeans styles change from season to season, classic models are always available. Jeans from this region have their exhibition area at the Canton Fair in an area of 800 m<sup>2<\/sup>. A Guide<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to get to Zengcheng (Guangzhou)?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The easiest way to\nget to Guangzhou is to go by airplane &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.airport-guangzhou.com\/baiyun-airlines\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Guangzhou Baiyun Airport<\/a> has an extensive route network, offering both\ndomestic and international air service. From the airport to Zengcheng you can\nget by bus. The journey lasts an hour and a half and costs about 50 RMB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From Hong Kong airport, you can go to Guangzhou by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hongkongairport.com\/en\/transport\/mainland-connection\/mainland-coaches\/#content2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">coach<\/a> (220-250 HKD) or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hongkongairport.com\/en\/transport\/mainland-connection\/ferry-transfer.page\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">ferry<\/a> (one and a half an hour, up to 400 HKD).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From more distant cities of China, aside from the airplane, one can also get to Guangzhou by train \u2013 it takes 7 hours from Shanghai, 8 hours from Beijing, and 4 hours from Nanning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can get to\nZengcheng from the center of Guangzhou by bus from 7 AM to 9 PM. It costs 70 RMB (including 20 RMB as a deposit) and can be used on subways, buses, some taxis, and even vending machines and telephone booths. It is available at metro stations and in 7-Eleven stores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Guangzhou has an extensive <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" href=\"http:\/\/cs.gzmtr.com\/ckfw\/\" target=\"_blank\">subway<\/a> system. The stations are described and announced in Chinese and English. The fare ranges from 2 to 19 RMB (using Lingnan Pass is more economical). Zengcheng operates two lines: 13 and 21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most taxi drivers have poor English, so we recommended preparing information about the destination in Chinese characters. Taxi fare starts at 10 RMB for the first 2.3 km; then, it is 2.6 RMB for each kilometer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cost of a <a href=\"https:\/\/guangzhou.8684.cn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">bus<\/a> ticket is a minimum of 1 RMB. Stops are announced in Mandarin, Cantonese, and sometimes in English. Buses run from 6 AM to 10 PM; night buses are also available (fare from 3 RMB).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">US duty rates for jeans<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Regardless of what goods are imported from China, the importer must pay the applicable duty. The duty rates of denim pants are around 10-20%. For example, the duty rate of men&#8217;s and boys&#8217; blue denim (6203.32.20) is 9.4%.
